The topics infrastructure, disaster management, coastal survey and border control were discussed on a delegation trip to DELHI under the Parliamentary Secretary of State Otto, Federal Ministry of economy and Technology from 8th to 14th January 2013.

High level personalities coming from the Indian state, management and technique were the discussion partners. The German delegation consisted of key representatives of the German industry and trade, but they came also from research organizations, from the GIZ. Managers of the German fair organizations, the fire brigades played an important role. For the German Geo-information GEOHAUS and HANSA LUFTBILD  AG were invited to join.

Whilst the German industry is well known in India and has good opportunities, the Indian partners were interested in the German voluntary based fire brigades and the overall scheme of the German geo-information.

Hans Oberscheid (93), self employed farmer in Duisburg, is feared and admired in the public building authorities. Being more than 70 years self-employed, his experiences as honorary judge at the Agricultural Chamber and his experiences with his real estate taught him not to give up, use his clear brain, have a clear look upon the interests of his opponents to reach his goal. Recently, having lost a crazy suit case at the Regional Administrative Tribunal concerning four garages moved by him from one place to the next, he did not allow himself to be kept from going into the next instance (“the Regional Court in the first instance decide always in favor of the public authority!”). After the judge’s decision at the higher court, he won at the Regional Court, based on the GEOHAUS – consulting, which he early had acknowledged to be right.

The  first generation of „GEObox smart“, produced by GEOsat (www.geosat.de), carried out their duties without any failure or maintenance in the construction site vehicles under ruggedized conditions.

The software coupled the location data with the order data for secure invoicing towards the client. Order management and field staff documented their competence.

Our partners at the construction site could recourse to this information, which has often proved to be very useful.

The new “Geobox smart” impresses by higher data security in cases of a lack of server or internet connection. The automatic evaluation of date is easier.

The implementation of the legal coordinate cadastre brings up the question in the daily practice, where is the right place for border stones, if the coordinate of “highest accuracy” differs from its demarcation.

The cadastral material in form of sketches has grown over 200 years. This is the reason why every point has a more or less big area of tolerance. If a border demarcation is laying inside that area of tolerance, and if it was acknowledged by the former neighbors, when the border point was installed, then its site cannot be refused statistically.

Its site can only be shifted in that case, if the neighbors confirm that in an official protocol. And even in such a case the shift of the stone must be within the tolerance area. Consequently the Cadastral Authority of Muelheim at the Ruhr has downgraded all its coordinates of highest quality to avoid legal uncertainties by the legal coordinate cadastre. The normal citizen can hardly understand the facts, even if the consequences can be very far-reaching.

To ease the situation for the citizens the Public Appointed Surveyors in GEOHAUS are called upon to give more information in the topological sketches belonging to the official protocol in form of relative measures to walls or other topographical features. They help the neighbors to have a better orientation about the legal site of the border and the border points.

What am I doing for my country?

Fabien Omboudou Ndjina, grown up in the bush of Cameroon, passed a long way from school, study in France, being an employee in government and at Géomètres Experts, to his own company with many employees. He is working now in Cameroon and the neighbouring countries.

Fabien Omboudou Ndjina

He met his wife, a Cameroonian, in Belgium; they have five children, the two eldest start to study in the country and abroad. Fabien and his family are the example of the upcoming Africa; they are the ray of hope to their relatives, friends and the youth in the bush, which they are deeply connected with. His ideas about the poverty crown his desk. The understandability of his ideas brought him reputation in the country.

Laser - Tragwagen

Jan Scheider (19) in July has passed his vocational training of three years with a very good result. His instructors in GEOHAUS are proud of this. Jan is the third generation of his family passing such an apprenticeship in GEOHAUS. The professional world of a survey technician or “geomatic” has changed in the last years dramatically. But Jan is well equipped for that.

The photo shows the planning of the first mission of the new carrying wagon for a surveying laser. It has been constructed for the survey of geometry at inaccessible places, actually for the ventilation channels of a theater building.

After a long and active professional life, Georg Kronenberg said farewell to go into a merited pension time. But he was asked to stay and support his successor, Lady Twarowska, because nobody else knows the real estates and the people in the diocese so well as him. Thunderous and warm applause showed the reputation of Georg Kronenberg under his guests at the leave-taking reception at the 21st may 2012 in Essen.
